Journey to Excellence Gold Winner for 2018 thru 2023!
To participate in Cub Scouts, you will need a Scouting America National Membership. When you first submit your Scouting America application, you will be asked to pay $115 in fees. These fees cover your Scouting America membership for one full year. When you apply for a Scouting America membership, you will also have the option to purchase a subscription to Scout Life magazine ($15) for 2025.
In addition to your Scouting America membership, you will also pay pack dues annually. Pack dues are determined by the pack committee each year by reviewing the annual program budget. For the 2024-25 program year, the pack dues for all scouts are $140. These dues fund the following:
1) Awards/Segments/Badges
2) Class B T-shirts
3) Pack Meeting Supplies and Speakers
4) Pinewood Derby
6) Blue and Gold Celebration
6) Pack Campout in June
7) Advancement picnic in June
8) Administrative Costs (for instance recruiting fliers)
Example costs to expect when joining Cub Scouts:
$115 - Paid to Scouting America with your application
$140 - Paid as pack dues directly to the pack
~$150 - Uniform and handbook purchased from Scouting America (Uniforms can be worn for multiple years.)
Total for the year approximately: $405
Some den activities will have additional costs associated, for instance a trip to the Museum of Flight would mean scouts and parents paying for admission. Likewise, the Scouting America Camps (Camp Halloween, Winter Camp, Summer Resident Camp, etc.) all have (fairly reasonable) fees.

Financial aid is available through our chartered organization, the Kiwanis of Providence Point. Please contact our Chartered Organization Representative, Lynda Smith at cor@cubpack225.org or the Pack Committee Chair, Stephanie Carlson, at chair@cubpack225.org for more information.
